*ACT! for Web currently works with ACT! 6.0 for 2004.
ACT! for Web does not work with ACT! 2005 at this time. However, Best Software is working on the next version of ACT! for Web, to be introduced at a later date. If you have VPN or network access, then the capabilities in ACT! 2005 Premium for Workgroups may meet many of your needs.

System Requirements
Please review the system requirements below to ensure that ACT! for Web will run properly on your Web server and remote users' computers.

Web Server

If the ACT! for Web software is installed on your company's Web server, you'll want to ensure your server meets these minimum requirements. All software is required to be installed on your server and updated with the most current patches available.

Hardware Requirements:
Below you will find general outlines of hardware requirements for number of users, processor speed and memory. A Pentium class processor or equivalent is sufficient.

Note: The information referenced above is a general outline. You may have optimal performance with hardware requirements that are different than what is referenced. It is always better to have more memory and a faster processor. Network connection speed, network traffic, ACT! database size, and other items may be a factor when evaluating performance.

You should not install ACT! for Web on a PDC (Primary Domain Controller), BDC (Backup Domain Controller), Small Business Server, or NAS (Network Attached Storage) device.

Operating System Software Requirements for the Web Server:

• Windows 2000
• Windows 2003 Server
• Windows NT 4.0
• Windows XP Professional*
• Windows NT Workstation*
• Windows 2000 Professional*

*Note: These Operating Systems are supported by ACT! for Web for the Web Server, but please note that IIS on these Systems limit you to a maximum of 10 concurrent connections.

Additional Server Requirements:

• Microsoft Internet Information Server (IIS) 4.0 or later
• CD - ROM drive
• ACT! for Windows version 5.04 or later
• Network Interface Card (NIC)
• Static IP address (recommended)
• 50MB free hard drive space, plus space for ACT! database
• VGA or higher monitor resolution
• High speed Internet and/or TCP/IP connection (Internet is optional, but required for ACT! for Web access outside of the company's network)

Remote Users

Remote users are not required to have ACT! for Windows or any additional ACT! specific software installed on their computers but must meet these minimum system requirements.

• A PC running Microsoft Windows 98/Me/NT/2000/XP
• Microsoft Internet Explorer 5.1 or later installed
  Note: Netscape, Opera, and other browsers are not supported
• Internet and/or TCP/IP connection (Internet is optional, but required for ACT! for Web access outside of the company's network)
• NIC, analog modem (56K minimum), Cable or DSL modem (recommended)
• Printer (optional)
• Adobe Acrobat Reader 5.0 or equivalent
• Microsoft Office Web Components 10.0 or later.
